This is the inspirational story of Rashmi of Sedam, Karnataka. Rashmi was paralysed waste down and needed assistance for every little thing. Rashmi, along with several other differently abled children came down to Hyderabad on an educational tour. When she heard some other children were going to perform on the cultural night, she was motivated enough to want to dance herself. She taught herself to dance to the song ‘mera desh hai rangeela’. Performing from a wheelchair, Rashmi managed to impress the audience and bring tears of joy to her parents’ eyes. Gaining support and inspiration from that one event, Rashmi has gone on to give several performances. She has received an award from the education minister of Karnataka and won the best national Girl Guide award in Delhi.
